Wednesday Wisdom Blog Series: The Ongoing Fight for Voting Rights

Each week of Black History Month, we’ll be sharing some key resources, articles, organizations, and leaders in law as part of our Wednesday Wisdom Blog series. This week, our Wednesday Wisdom is focused on the ongoing fight for voting rights in the United States. Check out the resources and content on the topic below!

Key Changemaker: Stacey Abrams

Stacey Abrams is a politician, lawyer, author, and voting rights activist. She founded Fair Fight Action, a national voting rights organization, which coordinates collective efforts to expose, mitigate, and reverse voter suppression, and make elections across the U.S. more equitable. Abrams previously served in the Georgia House of Representatives, and in 2018 she became the Democratic nominee for the Georgia gubernatorial election. Abrams was the first Black woman to be the gubernatorial nominee for a major party in the United States. After witnessing the mismanagement of the 2018 gubernatorial election in Georgia, she founded Fair Fight Action to promote fair elections, encourage voter participation in elections, and educate voters about their voting rights.
